Revised plans had been submitted

Plans for nearly 250 flats overlooking Aberdeen’s ancient Rubislaw Quarry were rejected.

Millions of tonnes of granite had been excavated at the quarry, which closed in 1971 and is credited with incomes Aberdeen its Granite City title.

Canadian developer Carttera had earlier proposals for 300 properties rejected.

New plans had been submitted and had been suggested for approval, nonetheless they had been unanimously rejected by the planning committee on Monday.
