Sir Alan Parker, the acclaimed British director of such motion pictures as Reputation, Evita and Bugsy Malone, has died frail 76.
His many other credits encompass Hour of darkness Explicit, Mississippi Burning, The Commitments, Angela’s Ashes and Birdy.
A founding member of the Directors Guild of Tall Britain, he became as soon as also chairman of the UK Film Council.
He died on Friday after a lengthy illness and is survived by his wife Lisa Moran-Parker, 5 kids and 7 grandchildren.
Sir Alan got the CBE in 1995 and a knighthood in 2002.
Born in London in 1944, he began his occupation in promoting as a copywriter however swiftly graduated to writing and directing commercials.

In 1974 he directed BBC film The Evacuees, winning a Bafta for course – the first of seven awards he got from the British Academy.
In 1984 Bafta honoured him with the Michael Balcon Award for prominent contribution to British cinema.
That became as soon as followed in 2013 by the prestigious Bafta Fellowship.

In 2005 he published Will Write and Reveal for Meals, a compendium of his commonly satirical observations on making motion pictures within the UK and US.
In 2018 he donated his in depth sequence of scripts and dealing papers to the British Film Institute’s Nationwide Archive.
In step with a household spokeswoman, he spent his retirement indulging his ardour for silk camouflage printing and painting.
